In a stroke of luck, a man from California has hit the jackpot in the SuperLotto Plus game, winning the biggest prize in over a decade. His life-changing win has made him $82 million richer, and his name will forever be etched in the history of the popular lottery game.
The winning ticket was purchased on Aug. 5 at Spring Valley Market in Victorville by M. Shadoian, according to California Lottery officials.
The jackpot roll lasted nearly nine months, ending with Shadoian winning the $82 million. The California Lottery reported that Shadoian has declined to make any public statements and wishes to maintain privacy.
Spring Valley Market, the store where Shadoian purchased his ticket, was awarded a bonus of $410,000.
The extended streak of SuperLotto Plus sales generated an estimated $88.4 million for public education, advancing California Lottery's mission to fund public schools statewide.
