Sharna Burgess Slams Speculation She’s “Forcing” Her and Brian Austin Green's Kids to “Be Girls”

Sharna Burgess and Brian Austin Green’s life isn’t for the public.
While the Dancing with The Stars pro and the Beverly Hills 90210 alum are well aware they’re living life in the public eye, they are emphasizing the spotlight does not extend to their kids, including their 2-year-old son, Zane, and Brian’s three children with his ex-wife Megan Fox: Noah, 12, Bodhi, 10, and River, 8.
"There’s so much that I'm sure people would love to know about what happens in our household and having such a busy chaotic life, and it’s fun but it’s also just not me,” Sharna said on the Oct. 9 episode of the Between Us Moms podcast. "I think I want to keep my kids out of that, and I certainly know Brian and Megan want to.”
After all, they already face plenty of baseless scrutiny without cameras rolling.
“We already get media articles like I’m forcing Zane to be a girl because I haven’t cut his hair yet,” she noted. “Or the ridiculous people saying that the kids are being forced to be girls. I just don’t understand it.”
She added, "So imagine us doing an actual reality show. The attention is just not healthy for our kids and it’s certainly not Brian’s style either."
Sharna, 39, who got engaged to Brian, 51, in 2023 after three years of dating, said that should her children want to follow their footsteps in entertainment they can “address that” but her home life is a special place.
"I'm happy to share what I wanna share what I think is helpful—we do on the podcast—but my home is sacred and my family is sacred,” she explained. “And I wanna protect that as much as possible."
Sharna and Brian—who is also dad to Kassius, 21, whom he shares with ex, Vanessa Marcil—aren’t shy when it comes to sharing special moments with their family on social media while celebrating milestones or taking trips. And that extends to gushing over their blended family and their co-parenting dynamics.
"It's so beautiful," Sharna said on the Quite Frankly podcast in April 2023. "First of all, they make it easy. They're incredible kids."
She continued, "Brian and Megan did such an amazing job. Kass is also an amazing kid. There's been no resistance, I have a beautiful relationship with them."
